ABOUT US

Mountain Men Inc. is a community group that supports the positive activity, engagement and inclusion of men (18 years+) in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges. Our aim is to reduce the number of men who are socially disadvantaged, marginalised or isolated to become productive, active members of the local community.  We do this by providing opportunities for men to come together in open, non-judgemental, safe spaces and participate in a range of social activities that encourage new friendships, normalise help-seeking behaviours and link with local support services.

Mountain Men is an open and inclusive group, which means we warmly encourage and welcome all those who identify as male, regardless of age, race, religion, sexuality, ability, social standing or whatever a considered point of difference might be. We recognise and respect that there are many types of masculinity and ask our members to do the same to ensure all feel included and valued.

Mountain Men is made up of an Executive Committee of local volunteers, "by the community, for the community," who meet on a regular basis to plan, develop, and facilitate the various activities delivered throughout the year (see GET INVOLVED). Our Executive Committee members have each passed national police checks, hold current Working with Children Checks, and, are First Aid trained.

We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community group and rely on grants and donations. We welcome any donations you'd like to make! Please contact us for further information.
